ACT is a charity based in the heart of Oxford which exists to support those with lived experience of prison, street homelessness or addiction find a hope and a future. Through street and prison outreach, meals, mentoring and housing, they’re mission is to help people rebuild their lives.

The need

Our brief was to create ACT’s Annual Report, highlighting the breadth of their work, the impact they’re making, and providing a clear overview of their finances as a charity. The report needed to function seamlessly in both digital and print formats, which informed every design decision we made.

ACT wanted a document that felt lively and modern, so we built on their existing brand, introducing a bolder, more engaging visual style that effectively communicates their mission. To bring the report to life, we spent the morning photographing the ACT team and community members, ensuring the booklet featured fresh, up-to-date imagery consistently edited to align with their brand style.

What we did

We collaborated closely with the ACT team to bring their story to life through the design of their Annual Report, giving readers a real sense of who they are and the impact they’re making. Their copy was transformed into pages full of energy and emotion, featuring bold quote graphics, compelling statistics layouts, and heartwarming photography.

Annual reports can often feel dense or tedious, but our goal was to create a document that was as visually striking as it was informative—designed to inspire both the team and their supporters.

We had the joy of spending a morning with the ACT team and their community, capturing a diverse range of photography that highlights their work at the heart of Oxford. Our focus was on capturing relationships, joy, and the character of the ACT charity, while maintaining a consistent style that aligned with their brand. The resulting imagery not only enhanced the report but also provided ACT with versatile content for use across other channels after the project was complete.
